Witzel

Donald Allan “Don” Witzel, 85, of Evans City passed away Thursday while in the comfort of his home.

Born July 4, 1928, in Belleview, he was the son of the late Raymond and Mary (Coffey) Witzel.

Don was a former member of the Hungarian Beneficial Society in Zelienople. He enjoyed baking, fishing, gardening and visiting the ocean. He especially adored his wife’s homemade biscuits. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, brother and uncle who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 61 years, Donna (McNichols) Witzel; his son, Gary Witzel of Evans City; his three sisters-in-law, Sheila Witzel of Evans City, Gayle Norman and her husband, Don, of Akron, Ohio, and Patricia Alls and her husband, Gregg, of Woodsfield, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews; and his very special companion, his dog, Jagger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Witzel, who passed away in 2010.
