SRU's Lynch 2nd in PSAC tennis
Slippery Rock University junior tennis player Sarah Lynch earned second place at the PSAC Individual Women's Championships at Shippensburg University on Sunday.
Lynch entered the event as the No. 2 seed and advanced to the finals with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Bloomsburg's Michele Perez.
Despite 10 kills and 20 digs from Sarah Cadwallader, SRU fell at home to Kutztown by a score of 3-1.The Rock (7-12, 5-6) lost by scores of 23-25, 25-23, 17-25 and 14-25.
Dana Kiger's first-half goal was good enough to earn SRU (7-3-2, 5-3-2) a 1-1 tie with No. 22 Kutztown.
Gabrielle Malishchak scored SRU's lone goal and Lisa Belcastro made 13 saves in a 2-1 loss to Bloomsburg.
