Edward L. Mihelic

Edward L. Mihelic, 89, of Renfrew died Sunday at his home.

Born on July 30, 1924, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late John Mihelic and Katherine (Sumic) Mihelic.

He worked for the Pathology Lab for the Deshon Hospital, the Mellon Institute in research chemistry, and finally for the U.S. Steel Plant as an organic chemist.

He was a member of the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy (Robison) Mihelic, who he married Jan. 18, 1947; his son, Edward L. Mihelic Jr. of Slippery Rock; his daughter, Mrs. Barbara (Donald) Neeld of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Marianne Motsko and Carrie Mihelic.

MIHELIC — The friends of Edward L. Mihelic, who died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian.
