Bruce Wayne, the two-year-old Great Dane clad in his llama costume, competes in the peanut butter-eating competition during Saturday's Butler County Humane Society Mutt Strut at Memorial Park.

Dog lovers and their canine companions turned out Saturday to participate in the Third Memorial Mutt Strut in memory of Garrett Fifield. The event ran from 9 a.m. to noon starting at the Butler Memorial Park Rotary Shelter, 100 Memorial Drive.

The strut consisted of a two-mile route as well as contests, raffles and light refreshments.

Organizers estimated the event raised aroung $11 to $12,000 to benefit the Butler County Humane Society.
