This is in loving memory of Lois Ann (Smith) Hover of Des Moines, Iowa, who passed away peacefully Tuesday. Her transition was as gentle-natured as her life.

Lois was born on July 29, 1930, to Lewis and Mildred (Parker) Smith of Butler. Lois graduated from Butler High School in 1948 and from Jackson (Mich.) Community College with an associate degree in applied arts and science/medical assistant in May of 1985.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Teddy Lee.

She is survived by her children, Roxie (Tom) Miskinis, Sherry (Dave) Schofield and Vicki (Byron) Hover-Williamson; her grandchildren, Christopher, Stacie, Robert, Heather, Bobby, Davie, Jordan, Caleb and Alex; and six great-grandchildren.

Her tender touch, wise advice and quick humor will be deeply missed.

She loved and supported her family unconditionally and nurtured others through Camp Fire Boys and Girls, Sunday school and vacation Bible school, and volunteering through the Foster Grandparent Program. Her passion for her faith was demonstrated on a daily basis.
