Patricia A. Johnston, 82, of Butler passed away Saturday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born on Oct. 17, 1931, in Tarentum, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Mary Sayers Coyle.

She was formerly employed at the Valley Daily News in Tarentum.

She was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, the 55 and Alive of St. Michael's, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the South Butler Volunteer Fire Department.

She is survived by her son, David P. Johnston (Nancy) of Saxonburg; her daughter, Kathy Bobby and her husband, Theodore, of Gibsonia; her sister, Mary Grace Davis of California; her four grandchildren, Michael P. Johnston, Matthew Bobby, Christopher Bobby and Gayle Johnston, and her great-grandson, Isaac Paul Johnston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert P. “Sonny” Johnston, who passed away on Nov. 14, 1987.

Johnston — The friends of Patricia A. Johnston, who passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, will be received at the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Ave., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler. Burial will take place in St. Michael's Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001.The Bereavement Group of the St. Michael the Archangel Parish will meet at the funeral home at 3 p.m. Tuesday to conduct a scriptural wake service.
