PA Game Commission hosts camp in East Butler
The Pennsylvania Game Commission will hold a one-day Junior Game Warden Camp from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at the Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club in East Butler.
At the camp, participants ages 12 to 15 years old will learn about the job of a Pennsylvania State Game Warden. They will spend the day with game wardens and will participate in light physical fitness activities, confidence-building exercises and hands-on learning stations.
At these learning stations, campers will learn about wildlife forensics and methods wardens use to catch poachers and solve wildlife-related crime. Other activities will include wildlife capture techniques, woodland tracking and outdoor survival.
Registration for the free camp is limited to 40 participants and can be completed on the Game Commission’s website. Those who have attended a camp previously are not eligible to register.
