St. Barnabas plans annual fundraiser race on Aug. 1
St. Barnabas Charities will host the 35th Annual Free Care 5K on Saturday, Aug. 1, at the organization’s Gibsonia campus located at 5850 Meridian Rd.
The race is set to begin at 9 a.m.
Participants can run or walk a 3.1 mile out and back course to support the non-profit’s charity.
Proceeds will contribute towards St. Barnabas’s free care fund.
Every year, the fund raises $4 million to provide free services for patients and residents of senior living campuses.
Participants all ages and experience can run, jog, walk or stroll at the race. Racers on wheelchairs have also been encouraged by the organization to sign up for the race.
Following the race, a gathering with raffle prizes, food and an awards ceremony is scheduled.
Individuals can register for the race or sign up to volunteer at freecare5k.com.
The cost to sign up is $30 per person before race day and $35 on race day.
Those who cannot attend can support the initiative by registering anyways, and will also receive the race shirt.
