Robert Scott Craig

Robert Scott Craig, 78, of Virginia passed away Monday after long illnesses including heart disease, diabetes and frontal temporal lobe dementia. His ashes will be scattered in Gettysburg next year.

He was the brother of Dick Craig and Tom Craig and his deceased sister, Virginia Craig; the husband of Frances Craig; the father of Ellen Craig and Christopher Craig; and the grandfather of Logan and Charlie Craig.

Scott was born in Detroit and moved to a farm in Butler County. He earned a teaching degree at Slippery Rock University and a master's degree at Indiana University. Scott taught at Hampton Township High School from 1958 through 1987. He was the author in 2010 of “A Civil War Family,” at acivilwarfamily.com.
