Shirley B. Davis, 78, of Renfrew passed away Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born on Jan. 7, 1935, in Uniontown, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Edna (Inks) Bierer.

Shirley was a faithful member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Evans City. She worked as a secretary at the Bethel Park School District. Shirley enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening, but above all, spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of 50 years, Ernest H. Davis of Fayette City; her son, Gerald R. Davis of Meridian; her daughter, Carol D. Sockman and her husband, Erik, of Apex, N.C.; her brother, Roy Bierer of Brigham City, Utah; her sister, Cornelia A. McCombs of Aptos, Calif.; and her five granddaughters, Christen, Victoria, Amanda, Rachel and Kaela.

DAVIS — The friends of Shirley B. Davis, who passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, will be received from 2 p.m. until the time of a funeral ceremony at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 116 E. Main St., Evans City, with the Rev. Dr. Verna Call, officiating.She will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville.Shirley's family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her honor to the St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 E.
