Clair E. Mitchell, 86, of Cabot, formerly of Wilkinsburg, passed away Thursday at VA Butler Healthcare.

Born Feb. 18, 1927, in Dayton, he was the son of James M. and Alda Byerly Mitchell.

Clair served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Italy.

He had worked as a sales manager for Kress Tire in Pittsburgh.

Surviving are his wife, JoAnne Mitchell of Saxonburg; his children, George Robert Mitchell of Cabot, Daniel W. (Loretta) Mitchell of Valencia and Donna Lee Mitchell of Butler; seven grandchildren, Tina, R.C., Ryan, David, Drew, Chris and Ben; and two great-grandsons, Alex and Nathan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
