July 1, 1954 - June 23, 2016

We knew that day was special,

The day we would set you free

Cancer had ravaged your body.

You could not live without help.

You woke up confused.

I told you everything would be fine.

You looked at the family and friends around you.

Your pulse, breathing and heart rate slowed until they were no more.

Your body was all that was left.

We finally cried the tears we didn’t want you to see with those beautiful blue eyes,

Just like Dad’s and Grandpap Riemer’s.

You are still with us 10 years later especially,

with the new ways of farming when we say, “Bud didn’t do it that way!”
