John V. Rice
John V. Rice, 71, of Valencia passed away at 2:35 a.m. Thursday at Allegheny General Hospital.
He was born Aug. 29, 1942, in Butler to Marie (Bowser) Rice.
Mr. Rice was a retired teacher at North Hills High School.
He was a former member of the First United Methodist Church in Butler.
Mr. Rice is survived by his wife, Karen L. (Lutz) Rice, who he married on June 15, 1968; a son, Jonathan Rice of Rochester, N.Y.; his mother, Marie (Bowser) Rice of Butler; a sister, Joan Rollins and her husband, David, of Churchill, Pa.; two nieces, and a nephew.
RICE — The friends of John V. Rice, who passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.The funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Patricia Nelson of the First United Methodist Church officiating.
