Barbara Coffman

Barbara Jean Coffman, 74, of Elizabeth, Colo., passed away Feb. 13.

Barbara was born in Butler on March 15, 1939. She was married to Thomas Jefferson Coffman, and she spent her life as a dedicated homemaker. Barbara was a great cook, who always loved watching the cooking shows. She was very talented in the kitchen and would do her own canning and baking.

She loved spending time with her family and friends, going to church, and reading. Barbara had a special connection with hummingbirds. She enjoyed collecting them in various ways, and she had lots of hummingbird feeders in her yard.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Coffman; her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Jo Hoover of Elizabeth, Colo., and her stepdaughter, Shirley Ann Newman of Charleston, W.Va.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Crouch; her mother, Isabelle Thompson Crouch; her former husband, Ernest Vincent Hoover, and her son, Keith Dwayne Hoover.

Barbara was well loved, and will be greatly missed.

COFFMAN — A graveside service for Barbara Jean Coffman, who passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, will be at West Sunbury Union Cemetery, Halston Road, West Sunbury, at 11 a.m. March 15.Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Young Funeral Home, Butler.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.Information also is available at www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
