Stephen Hersh Anservitz, 77, of Butler passed away Tuesday evening at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

Born on Feb. 6, 1937, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Albert and Vella Schulman Anservitz.

He was an active member of the Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church.

Stephen was honored at his retirement dinner for opening the Sears Store at the Allegheny Center in Pittsburgh, and for working his career in the automotive department until the store's closing in 1992.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 0785, Glenshaw.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sallee Lee Tritt Anservitz, who he married on Aug. 11, 1983; his two stepchildren, David Yanssens of Butler, and Marilyn (Scott) Kazmarski of Ellwood City; his four step-grandchildren, Jamie (Brian) Baird, David Weber and Cameron Kazmarski, all of Ellwood City, and Kyle Yanssens of Butler; his two step-great-grandchildren, Tyler and Anthony Baird; his brother Robert Anservitz of Atlanta; his sister-in-law, Lynne Pressley Anservitz, and his nephew, Alex Anservitz, both of Atlanta.

Anservitz — Visitation for Stephen Hersh Anservitz, who passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main St., Prospect.The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Mt. Chestnut Presbyterian Church, 727 W. Old Route 422, Butler.
