David R Cole

David R. Cole, 62, of Fairview, Erie County, passed away from heart failure March 12 at UPMC Hamot.

He was born in Pittsburgh on July 16, 1951, a son of the late Randall E. and Ruth Deer Cole.

David graduated from Shaler High School in 1970 and Robert Morris College in 1975. He worked as a purchasing manager at the Lord Corp.

David enjoyed playing golf, the guitar and watching the stock market. He enjoyed meeting and learning about people. He loved spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a larger than life character and colorful storyteller who loved to make everyone laugh.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Yvonne Cole; one daughter, Amanda Wilson and her husband, Timothy, of Washington, D.C.; one son, Jared D. Cole of Reading; one sister, Debra Cole of Bradenton, Fla; and many nieces and nephews. He further will be missed by his best friend, his dog Benny.

Cole, who died Wednesday, March 12, 2014.Arrangements were handled by the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 W. 26th St., Erie.The family wishes to thank Dr. Strasser, nurse Bonnie and the rest of the staff at the Heart Failure Clinic at Medicor.Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
