Donald B. Heckard
Donald B. Heckard, 72, of Renfrew passed away Tuesday afternoon in the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler after a long battle with cancer.
Born Aug. 7, 1941, in Butler, he was the son of the late Lester and Ruth E. Fredley Heckard of Renfrew.
He previously worked for Franklin Glass of Renfrew. He retired from the maintenance department at Joy Manufacturing in Cranberry Township.
Don enjoyed fishing, antique cars, motorcycles, spending time with family and socializing.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Heckard; his brother, Robert Heckard, and his sister, Virginia Edinger.
Don is survived by his two daughters, Victoria Burkett of Meridian and Christine (Mark) Scarborough of Slippery Rock; his two sons, Lester G. Heckard of Renfrew and David Williams of Huntington; his sister, Judy (John) Barron of Renfrew; his nine grandchildren; his seven great-grandchildren, and his companion of 30 years, Virginia Williams.
Heckard— The friends of Donald B. Heckard, who passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 328 W.
