Michael John Hawranko
Michael John Hawranko, 63, of Slippery Rock, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully Monday surrounded by his loved ones at home.
He was the loving father of Kristen (Ernie) Sciulli, Rebecca (Michael Wood) Hawranko, Hillary (Benjamin) Rumburg and Jenifer (Matthew) Scholz; boyfriend of Donna Martin; pappy of Ernie, Annabelle, Gavin, Hadley, Naomi and Darien; son of Ruth and the late Anthony E. Hawranko; brother of Tony (Betty), Gary, Dale (Marie), Cheryl and Jim (Lisa) Hawranko, Janis (David) Walker, twin Michelle (Ken) Sobek, Lisa (Richard) Gustashaw, and Ruth (Jim) Dinkel, and uncle of numerous nieces and nephews.
Mike was “Daddy,” “Pappy Mike,” “Mikey,” “Grumbles,” and the infamous “Tionesta Mike.”
Raised to be a hunter and fisherman, Mike made sure his daughters grew up with an appreciation for the great outdoors. More recently, Mike's wish of having all of his family together in Disney World was granted. He lived his life to the fullest.
Mike was not a man of many words, but he will be remembered as a man of many feelings. They say actions speak louder than words. He showed that he cared in so many ways. He cried walking his daughters down the aisle, he was a protective father of teenage girls and the best Pappy six grandkids could ask for.
He was a Naval veteran and a 30-year Postal Service employee.
