Carrie Emma Whitman, 93, of Cabot passed away at 5:25 p.m. Saturday at the Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

She was born on April 9, 1921, in Tabernacle, N.J., to the late Arthur Pepper and Clara (Scott) Pepper.

Mrs. Whitman was a graduate of Rancocas Valley High School in Mt. Holly, N.J. She worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone and in retail sales in Mt. Holly.

In 1981, Mrs. Whitman and her husband, George, retired to Largo, Fla., from New Jersey. Following George's death, she moved to Butler in 2003.

Mrs. Whitman was a member of the Calvary Episcopal Church in Indian Rocks Beach, Fla. She enjoyed traveling, reading and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Whitman is survived by her daughter, Patricia Schultz and her husband, Eric, of Butler; two grandchildren, Jennifer Robinson and her husband, Corey, of Meridian and Scott Schultz of Harmony; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Robinson and Zoe Schultz; a sister, Doris Nixon of Vincentown, N.J., and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Whitman, who she married on Nov. 6, 1944, and who passed away in February 2002; two brothers, and one sister.

Whitman — A funeral service for Carrie Emma Whitman, who passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014, will be at the Calvary Episcopal Church, Indian Rocks Beach, Fla., later. Entombment will take place in the Serenity Gardens Memorial Park, Largo, Fla.Local arrangements are entrusted to the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
