Slippery Rock University junior guard Devin Taylor narrowly missed a triple-double Tuesday night at Kutztown.

He’ll take the end result, though: a 76-73 men’s basketball victory.

Taylor scored a season-high 25 points while adding nine rebounds and nine blocked shots. Maron Brown had 17 points and 17 boards, and Jabril Bailey had 17 points for The Rock (8-4).

Brown hit two jumpers and Taylor a 3-pointer in the final 90 seconds to nail down the Rock win.

Women’s BasketballKutztown 86, SRU 58 — Shannon Lee scored career-high 19 points in the Rock loss.Lee added six assists, four rebounds and two steals while Sherita Stanley and Grace Palucis had nine points apiece, and Danielle Smith had eight points and five rebounds for SRU (1-9).

Juniata 65, Grove City 56 (overtime) — The Wolverines took the loss despite 12 points and 10 rebounds from Butler graduate Cody Fleeger.Freshman guard Charlie Thomas made his first start and scored 14 points, hitting four 3-pointers for Grove City (4-7).
