Bill May to discuss Alameda Amusement Park years
Historian Bill May will take a journey back in time to Butler’s “lost amusement park” on Tuesday, June 23.
The free presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the First Responders Shelter at Alameda Park. May will present a slideshow and talk on the “History of Alameda Park — The Amusement Park Years.” May’s stories will be brought to life through dozens of original photographs enhanced through colorization and the use of AI technology.
Viewers will see and hear people walking on the midway, boaters rowing in the lake, children jumping off the swimming pool’s diving board and the amusement rides, including the “Dinky Railroad,” in motion once again. May will even take the audience on a ride on its figure eight roller coaster, said an email from May.
