Irene Crighton

Irene B. Crighton, 96, of Frazer Township passed away peacefully in her home Sunday. She lived in her home in Frazer for 78 years.

Mrs. Crighton was born on March 4, 1918, in Butler to the late Altie (Graham) and Carl Desmon Dunworth. She was their only child.

She married her husband of 56 years, George Crighton, on June 15, 1935. Together they had four children, George and his late wife, Debbie, Carl and his wife, Marie, James and his wife, Christine, and Darlene Anderson. Their family grew to include 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.

Irene was a homemaker and, as an only child, her greatest joy came from spending time with her extended family of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Everyone enjoyed spending time with her, as her home with George was always open and filled with love for whomever was there.

She is survived by four children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 3, 1992, and her grandson, Steven Crighton, on Aug. 6, 1986.

Crighton — At the family's request, services for Irene B. Crighton, who passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014, will be private.Memorial contributions may be made in Irene's honor to a charity of one's choice.Arrangements are entrusted to the D'Alessandro Funeral Home, Lawrenceville.
