Thelma P. Schnelle, 87, of Ocala, Fla., formerly of Portersville, died Dec. 12 at Sylvia Hospice House in Ocala.

Born Aug. 26, 1920, in Hays, Pa., she was the daughter of Frederick and Tressa Bendgen Weidenhof.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and baking and was a former member of the Pleasant Hills Extension.

Mrs. Schnelle was a member of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church and was active in the Women's Club.

She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Arthur Jack and Rosemary Schnelle of Baytown, Texas, Ronald and Karen Schnelle of Portersville, Christopher and Virginia Schnelle of Dunnellon, Fla., and Timothy Schnelle of Ocala; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lorraine Keown of Butler.

Her husband, Arthur G. Schnelle, whom she married Dec. 16, 1942, died Feb. 24, 2005. She also was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters.
