Homer W. Blair

Homer W. Blair, 80, of Petrolia passed away at 2:20 a.m. Sunday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Homer was born on April 22, 1934, in Petrolia. He was the son of the late Ralph and Edna Smith Blair.

He was a member of the North Washington Presbyterian Church, West Sunbury.

Homer retired from Witco after 23 years and also worked on oil wells for many years.

He was a fire police for the North Washington Rodeo and a member of the PA Draft Horse and Mule Association. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Homer is survived by his two daughters, Doris Jean Hurtado of California and Anna (Dave) Ramsey of Volant; his son, Wayne (Buffy) Blair of Chicora; his six grandchildren, Adam, Cole, Tanner, Nichelle, Joshua and Andrea; and his great-grandson, Kameron. Also surviving are his two sisters, Edie (Sam) Nail of Eau Claire and Irma (Bill) Weiland of Middletown, and his six brothers, Earl Blair of Chicago, Harold Blair of Petrolia, Frank John (Renate) Blair of Petrolia, Clair “Amy” (Jane) Blair of Clintonville, George (Paula) Blair of Michigan and Art Blair of Alaska.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy “Tiger” Rumbaugh, one sister and three brothers.

Blair — The friends of Homer W. Blair, who passed away Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until time of service at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury, with the Rev. Jeffrey Lang of the West Sunbury Presbyterian Church officiating.
