Livestock seminar planned

PA Project Grass is co-sponsoring a seminar for livestock producers interested in the latest information on raising, marketing, and selling grass-finished meats.

The seminar will be from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at the West Franklin Fire Hall in Worthington.

Extension educators, including PCO board member David Hartman of Columbia County, will lead discussions on grazing management, animal health issues, labeling rules, and marketing claims. In addition, a panel of producers will share practical experiences.

Registration is requested and the $30 fee is due Aug. 26. To register, contact the Penn Soil Resource Conservation and Development Office at 814-226-8160, Ext. 102. After Aug. 26, the registration fee is $40.
