Laverne F. Schnelzer, 80, of Harrisville passed away at 4:05 p.m. Sunday at Jameson Memorial Hospital, New Castle.

A daughter of Aloysius and Anna Egal Schnelzer, she was born on Aug. 29, 1934, in Pittsburgh.

She had worked for Kresge's and later for Kmart in Pittsburgh. Following her retirement, she moved to the Harrisville area.

She attended St. Anthony Church, Forestville. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo and, after moving to “the country,” she enjoyed gardening.

Laverne is survived by her brother, Ronald Schnelzer of Harrisville, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
