Thomas 'Tom' G. Leasher

Thomas Leasher

Thomas “Tom” G. Leasher, 87, of Evans City went to be with the Lord on Wednesday.

He was born on Jan. 18, 1927, in Verona. He was the son of the late Thomas H. and Dora V. Carlton Leasher.

Thomas was a World War II veteran serving in the cleanup in Nagasaki, where he was a heavy equipment operator and a radio operator.

Tom was also the owner and operator of Tom's Meat Market in Evans City. He retired from his business in 1992.

He formerly served in the Evans City Service Clubs and the American Legion. He was also a pigeon fancier, belonging to the Harmony Pigeon Racing Club. Tom was a member of the Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Evans City. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Doris Funkhouser Leasher. Together they had four sons, Larry (Carol Ann) of Monroeville, Jerry of Portersville, Jay (Beverly) of Wexford and Rick (Beverly) of Evans City. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Thomas was preceded in death by his two sisters, his brother and three grandchildren.

Leasher— The Leasher family will welcome friends of Thomas “Tom” G. Leasher, who passed away Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 116 E. Main St., Evans City. A funeral ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heartland Hospice of Seven Fields, 2200 Garden Drive, Seven Fields, PA 16046.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the Leasher family at www.boylanfuneralhome.com.
