Regene T. Green, 100, of Chicora, formerly of Butler, died Thursday evening at her home.

Born June 5, 1914, in Herman, she was a daughter of the late Joseph E. Heasley and Grace A. (Callihan) Heasley.

She was a homemaker, and she was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church and the women's council of St. Peter. She had enjoyed playing cards, gambling and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan.

Surviving is her daughter, Velma Green of Chicora; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; and one sister, Catherine LeGrand of Butler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford F. “Sam” Green, who she married Nov. 5, 1938, and who died Dec. 13, 1992; two sons, Robert L. Green and Richard A. Green; one daughter, Marlene Green; four brothers; and two sisters.

GREEN — Friends of Regene T. Green, who died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler. Interment will be in St. Mary's Parish Cemetery, Herman.The women's council of St. Peter will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church to recite the rosary.
