George Andrew 'Andy' Kellerman

George Andrew “Andy” Kellerman, 67, of South Chesterfield, Va., passed away on Jan. 2 after a long battle with cancer.

Born on Oct. 23, 1947, in Butler, he was the son of the late Laverne William and Elizabeth Covert Kellerman.

George Andrew was also preceded in death by his sister, Carol J. Wise of Renfrew, and his brother, Thomas R. Kellerman of Butler.

He graduated from Butler High School in 1966 and went on to play football for the University of Wyoming where he was part of the 1968 Sugar Bowl team.

He was a civil servant for the U.S. Army and spent many years living overseas in Heidelberg, Germany, and traveling throughout Europe.

He had a lifelong love of nature and the outdoors and sought any excuse to be outside hunting in the woods or golfing. He was a beloved father and grandfather and adored spoiling his five grandchildren. He always had time to spend with his family and remained a steadfast and loyal father to his children. He made many dear friends and stayed very close to his siblings and cousins.

George Andrew is survived by his former wife, Dorothy Jane Kellerman of Chester, Va.; his daughter, Tricia Kellerman Nelson and Tom of Oakton, Va.; his son, Michael Andrew Kellerman and his wife, Tatum, of Yuma, Ariz.; his brother, Laverne W. Kellerman of Atwater, Calif., and his sisters, Mary S. Double of Chicora and Karen K. Rodgers of Butler.

He will be dearly missed and loved forever.

Kellerman — Interment for George Andrew “Andy” Kellerman, who passed away Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, will be private. A celebration of life will be later in Butler.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.Arrangements are by the J.T.
