Pauline Rita Cibik Mravintz, 95, of Valencia, formerly of Gibsonia and the North Side of Pittsburgh, went to be with the Lord and to be present with her loving husband Wednesday night.

She was born on Dec. 10, 1919, in Leechburg, and was the daughter of the late Vincent A. Sr. and Anastasia Vican Cibik.

Raised on the farm while her father worked in the steel mill with dairy cows and chickens. She never forgot those days. She would often remember the garden and fruit trees near the house.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and caring for her children. Having to walk to school was difficult at times, although she did attend Mt. Joy School.

On June 25, 1940, she married John G. Mravintz Sr., who preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1999. They owned and operated a family grocery store on Voskamp Street, formerly Villa Street, in the Spring Garden area from the 1940s to the late 1950s, founded by her father-in-law, Mathias Mravintz, in early 1900.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Vincent Jr., Charles, Milton, John and Joseph Cibik of Leechburg; her granddaughter, Maureen Mehalik (late Sam) of Steubenville, Ohio, and her grandson, David Laird.

Pauline is survived by her eight children, John Jr. and his wife, Joanne, of Ligonier, Dennis and his wife, Gina, of Florida, Thomas of Saxonburg, Regina Jensen and her husband, Ronald, of Texas, Bernard of Saxonburg, Gregory of Valencia, Gloria Helwich and her husband, Mike, of Pittsburgh and Alan and his wife, Katy, of Florida; her eight grandchildren, Brian and his wife, Lorraine, of Wexford, Cynthia Fisher and her husband, Randal, of Bridgeville, John III of Ligonier, Lisa of Penn Hills, Anthony of Pittsburgh, Eric Jensen of Texas and John Laird and his wife, Jessica, of Pittsburgh; her eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Venice of Lower Burrell; her brother, James Cibik of Sarver; and her many nieces and nephews.
