Catherine Fitz, 60, of Renfrew died early Sunday morning at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

She was born July 27, 1952, in McKeesport, and was a daughter of the late Stanley Homa Sr. and Mary Kytchak Homa.

Prior to her illness, Cathy was a part-time clerical employee of the federal government, working in Boyers at the Office of Personnel Management.

She was a member of the St. John Reformed Church in Meridian.

She is survived by her loving husband, James R. Fitz. They were married Sept. 18, 1975. She also is survived by one brother, Stanley Homa Jr. and his wife, Enrica, of Arlington, Va.; two sisters, Lillian Boomer of Gibsonia and Helen Markus and her husband, Dave, of Elizabeth; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Gene, John and Harry Homa.

FITZ — Friends and family of Catherine Fitz, who died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, are invited to attend a memorial service that will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the St. John Reformed Church, 493 Evans City Road, Butler. Her pastor, the Rev. Dr. Robert Peterson, will officiate.
