Butler’s Carl Bowser won the pole position and didn’t relinquish the top spot by the end of the 25-lap Peoples Sprints main feature Friday, June 5, going wire to wire for the win at Lernerville Speedway.

AJ Flick, one of the top drivers this season who earlier in the night won his heat over Bowser, started ninth but did not finish the race. Dan Shetler came in second and Danny Kuriger third, while Sarver’s Jacob Begenwald slid from a third-starting spot into a sixth-place finish.

In the Late Models feature, Saxonburg’s Alex Ferree climbed from third to win the checkered flag, and Sarver’s Ken Schaltenbrand stormed from the back of the pack (starting 14th) into second. Nine cars did not finish the race.

Garrett Krummert won the Modifieds after starting second, beating Rex King Jr. and Ayden Cipriano in second and third, respectively.

And Tyler Schneider held off Chris Schneider for the Pro Stocks win.

Danny Kuriger leads Flick and Begenwald by 20 points atop the track’s Sprints standings after Friday’s races. Ferree is now up nine points on Jared Miley in the Late Model standings, King is seven points ahead of Krummert in the Modifieds and Brett Hutira has a six-point lead in Pro Stocks.

Lernerville will host a test and tune event Tuesday, and Fab4 Racing returns Friday.
