Golf scramble event to memorialize Marine Corps veteran
A charity golf scramble in memory of Greg Adams is set to take place on Friday, June 19, with a 9 a.m. shotgun start time. The event will take place at Saxon Golf Club to benefit local police training and equipment needs.
The Community One Public Safety Training Initiative and The Friends of the Saxonburg Police, who share a common mission, are collaborating on the event.
Golfers can sign up to play for $110 per person. The Business Division competition is $525 per team. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Businesses and individuals are welcome to sponsor a hole, skill challenge, food function, make a cash donation or donate a gift basket.

Chief Adams was a Marine Corps veteran who was killed during a routine traffic stop Dec. 4, 1980, in Saxonburg.
