Slippery Rock Area High School class officers
This year’s valedictorian is Ashley Ragan.
Ashley is the daughter of Kathleen and Timothy Ragan of Butler Township. During her time at Slippery Rock, Ashley has challenged herself academically by completing eight Advanced Placement courses, including European history, English language, calculus, English literature, physics: mechanics, American politics, marketing and statistics.
In addition to her rigorous academic schedule, Ashley was an integral leader in her school community, serving as president of the National Honor Society and Interact Club, while also participating in ski club. She was a dedicated student-athlete as well, participating on the varsity cheer squads for football and basketball and competing for the Region Champion varsity volleyball team and the varsity track team.
Ashley plans to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla., to major in aerospace engineering. Looking ahead, she hopes to design and improve rockets, contributing to the future of space exploration.
This year’s salutatorian is Lexi Plesakov. Lexi is the daughter of Jennifer and Chad Plesakov, of Slippery Rock.
During her time at Slippery Rock, Lexi has challenged herself academically by completing six Advanced Placement courses, including English language, biology, English literature, European history, government and politics and statistics. Beyond the classroom, she was an integral member of the Region Champion varsity volleyball team, demonstrating dedication, teamwork and perseverance.
Lexi has also been actively involved in several organizations, including the National Honor Society, ski club, Interact Club and Rotary Club, contributing to her school and community.
Lexi plans to attend Westminster College in New Wilmington, to major in nursing and minor in Spanish. Looking ahead, Lexi aspires to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Her goal is to expand access to general anesthesia and to advocate for patients experiencing severe pain during medical procedures.
