John W. Towns Jr.
John W. Towns Jr., 82, most recently of Asbury Heights, formerly of Butler, died Thursday.
He was the beloved husband of the late Thelma and Beatrice Towns; father of John W. III (Melissa), Duane H. (Martie) and the late Daniel; stepfather of Deborah (David) Fiscus, Jan (Bob) Parsons and Amy (Gary) Fields and their families; brother of Elvira J. (Floyd) Johnson and the late Charles J. and his surviving wife, Martha, formerly of Mt. Lebanon; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
John served in the Air Force during the Korean War.
He served as moderator for the Beaver-Butler Presbytery and chaired the finance committee of the Synod of the Trinity. He was vice president and treasurer for the Butler County Kennel Club, international vice president for the Institute of Management Accountants and a member of the Butler American Legion.
