Robert F. Kappeler, 88, of Butler passed away Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born on Nov. 9, 1926, in Butler, he was a son of the late Francis Kappeler and Blanche Green Kappeler.

He was a retired clerk for the Pennsylvania Railroad.

He was a member of the St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church in Butler, the VFW Post 249 and the American Legion Post 117. He had enjoyed camping.

Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Surviving are his wife Joan Bowlus Kappeler, who he married on July 21, 1948; his brother, John (Gail) Kappeler of Florida, and his numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters.
