Paul A. Gvoth Sr.
Paul A. Gvoth Sr., 90, of Jefferson Township, formerly of Griftlo Park, passed away Saturday.
He was born on Nov. 19, 1924, in Czechoslovakia to the late Andrew and Mary Seucovicova Gvoth.
He was employed as a general foreman in the Machine Shop at the Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp., West Leechburg, for 45 years, retiring in 1987.
Paul was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Vandergrift.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Apollo Elks Lodge in Spring Church, the Lions Club in Kiski Township and the Spring Church Country Club. He enjoyed golfing, skiing, hunting and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lucille Nina Conto Gvoth of Jefferson Township; his son, Paul Andrew (Gretchen) Gvoth Jr. of Virginia; his daughter, Susan Shank of Salineville, Ohio; his three grandsons; his great-grandson; his two great-granddaughters; his three stepgrandchildren; his eight step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons-in-law, Allan Shank and Scott A. McIntosh, and his brothers, John Gvoth and William Gvoth.
Gvoth — The friends of Paul A. Gvoth Sr., who passed away Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, will be welcomed by his family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Clawson Funeral and Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg.Funeral ceremonies will be at noon Thursday at the funeral home.
