Marcella V. Fetterman, 92, of Butler passed away Wednesday evening at the Saxony Health Center.

She was born in Export on Nov. 29, 1922.

She worked at various places all her life, retiring from Magnetics after 25 years. She then turned to do volunteer work with the VA Hospital, Habitat for Humanity and a hospice as well.

She grew up during the Great Depression. She and her family were always one step ahead of the sheriff, moving from place to place, often in the middle of the night. She attended 11 grade schools and three high schools, but she said her best education came from the school of life.

She had many fine acquaintances and enough true friends in her lifetime. She had three great sons, Tom Criner of Rimersburg, Jim Fetterman of Parker and Steve Fetterman of Butler. She also had numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, Josie.

FETTERMAN — Marcella V. Fetterman, who died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, donated her body to science.
