Moniteau’s softball season ended with a 7-3 loss to Keystone in a District 9 Class 2A consolation on Monday.

Lily Staab and Danilynn Wallace both had a pair of hits, but the Panthers going up 3-0 in the top of the first inning instantly put the Warriors behind the eight ball.

Moniteau got on the board in the bottom second when Lexi McGhee singled and pushed across Sydney Dematteis. Both sides added another run to the scoreboard in the fourth frame, then Wallace pulled the Warriors within one in home fifth with an RBI single.

Keystone posted three runs in the top sixth, though, providing a gap that Moniteau couldn’t overcome.
