Laura E. Burton, 84, of Orchard Manor, Grove City, passed away Sunday with her family at her side.

The daughter of Edward Wethli and Martha Sorbie, she was born Oct. 24, 1931, in Rosedale.

She graduated from Penn High School in Pittsburgh and attended Robert Morris' Business School.

Mrs. Burton was a member of the Barkeyville Methodist Church.

She was a tax collector for Irwin Township from 1986 till 2009 and later worked at the Grove City Wal-Mart for 6 years as a greeter. Right out of college, she worked for Westinghouse as a secretary and assistant.

She enjoyed visiting with her family, friends and neighbors and loved to weed her flower beds.

She is survived by four children, Vicky Suhrie and her husband, Patrick, of Mercer, Leon “Lee” Burton and his wife, Cindy, of Harrisville, Timothy Burton and his wife, Kathi, of Mercer and Ronald Burton and his wife, Michele, of Burgettstown; her sister, Martha Hopbell and her husband, Jim, of Kittanning; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grand children.

She was proceeded in death by her son, Randy Burton, who passed away Sept. 30, 1984; her brother, Homer Wethli in 2005; and her sister-in-law, Catherine Wethli in 2014.

BURTON — Visitation for Laura E. Burton, who died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton St., Clintonville.Also, there will be an hour of visitation before the funeral service from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday. The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Barkeyville Methodist Church, 5420 Pittsburgh Road, Harrisville, with the Rev. Stephanie Thompson and the Rev. Kenneth Hughes officiating.The family suggests sending memorial donations to the Barkeyville Methodist Church in care of Carol McCullon, 622 Old Route 8, Harrisville PA 16038.Interment will take place at the Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City.Friends can e-mail condolences by visiting www.mckinleyfuneralhome.net.
