Mr. David Jay Weaver, 79, of DeLand, Fla., passed away to the care of the Lord on Dec. 21.

David was born March 11, 1936, in Pittsburgh. He was the son of Howard and Ellen (Miller) Weaver, and he had one brother, Daniel.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Semanisin) Weaver; his three children and their spouses, Joy and Mark Gorgans, Trudy and Hugh Fuller and Wiliam and Caryn Weaver; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

David owned and operated his family business, Mars Paint & Hardware, in Mars, beginning in 1960 until moving to Port Charlotte, Fla., in 1981 and then to DeLand, Fla., in 2011.

He is remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather and a good citizen of the Mars and Port Charlotte communities. He was an active member of the Mars Alliance Church and First Alliance of Port Charlotte.

WEAVER — A memorial service for David Jay Weaver, who died Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Alliance Chapel in DeLand, Fla., where he was a current member.In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family has requested donations to be made to The Great Commission Fund of The Christian and Missionary Alliance.Arrangement were handled by the Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home, DeLand, Fla.
