August G. Letzelter
August G. Letzelter, 97, of Cabot, formerly of Penn Hills, passed away Sunday at the Good Samaritan Hospice.
Born Jan. 4, 1919, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of August G. Letzelter and Freida Dahlem Letzelter.
Augie served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 111th Infantry, having participated in six invasions in the South Pacific.
He worked as an insurance salesman.
He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Cabot. The most important thing in his life was spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife of 72 years, Etta R. Reddish Letzelter; his children, Paul (Denise) Letzelter of Plum Borough, Nancy (Michael) Puhalla of Pittsburgh, Richard (Debbie) Letzelter of Buffalo, N.Y., Larry (Terry) Letzelter of Sarver and Steven (Sherry) Letzelter of Erie; his sister-in-law, Elinor Wisnoski, who was raised by Etta and Augie, of Penn Hills; and nine grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Ruth Letzelter
LETZELTER — Friends of August G. Letzelter, who died Sunday, March 6, 2016, will be received from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Fox Funeral Home, Saxonburg.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Pittsburgh.Memorial donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.
