Valerie M. Delk, 20, of Natrona Heights, formerly of Buffalo Township, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday at her home.

Valerie was born Sept. 2, 1995, in Palos Hills, Ill. She is the daughter of Doreen (Nutow) Delk of Freeport and Michael Delk Sr. of Natrona Heights.

Val was a 2014 graduate of Freeport High School. Valerie had been a member of the Art Club in high school. She enjoyed playing youth soccer, watching her favorite movies, spending time in the outdoors, drawing and learning about history.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, Victoria Delk and her brother, Michael Delk Jr., both of Freeport; her maternal grandmother, JoAnn Nutow of Chicago, Ill.; her paternal grandparents, Rosemary (Edward) Fialek of Chicago, Ill.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded by her maternal grandfather, Walter Nutow; her paternal grandfather, Robert Delk; and her cousin, Ryan Jagminas.

Delk, who died Tuesday, March 8, 2016, will be received from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Redmond Funeral Home, 524 High St., Freeport.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary, Mother of God Church, Freeport, with the Rev. Ronald Maquinana officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Freeport.
