H. Dean Hawk, 71, of Tryon, N.C., passed away Sunday at the Elizabeth House.

A native of Butler, he was the son of the late Herman and Pauline S. Hawk.

He was a graduate of Butler High School and had served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He had worked as a carpenter in residential construction until his retirement. Later, he enjoyed working part-time at Belk's with his daughter, Lindsay.

He was a Methodist, and in his free time, he enjoyed shopping, car collecting, gardening and spending time with his family.

Mr. Hawk is survived by his daughters, Amy Hawk Cole of Mill Spring, N.C., and Lindsay Hawk Kent of Hendersonville, N.C.; his granddaughter, Gabrielle Kent; and his sister, Lana Turner of Butler.

HAWK — A memorial service for H. Dean Hawk, who died Sunday, March 20, 2016, will be at 4 p.m. April 1 in the chapel of the Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Hendersonville, N.C. The Rev.
