Ralph S. Smith

Ralph S. Smith, 72, of Butler passed away at 9:35 a.m. Tuesday at his home.

He was born Sept. 23, 1943, in Butler to the late Kenneth Smith and Luella (Stutz) Smith.

Ralph worked at Pullman Standard and Halstead Industries as a laborer for several years.

He was a member of the VFW Post 249 of Butler. Ralph loved antiquing and flea markets. He enjoyed golfing and fishing.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Margaret, of 41 years, who he married Dec. 10, 1974; two brothers, Paul Smith and Joseph Smith both of Butler; one sister, Kay Reott and her husband, Donald, of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Jeanne Mahlmeister; and two brothers, Kenneth and Phillip Smith.

SMITH — Friends of Ralph S. Smith, who died Tuesday, June 7, 2016, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Maitland, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.Burial will take place at the Butler County Memorial Park.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
