Michael P. Goda Jr.

Michael P. Goda Jr., 89, of Butler died Sunday morning at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Oct. 13, 1926, in Detroit, Mich., he was a son of the late Michael P. Goda and Helen (Chajka) Goda.

He had worked at the Armco Steel Plant in Butler, retiring in 1985. He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf. For 25 years he and his son reblued guns.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.

Surviving are his son, Greg Goda of Butler; one sister, Elenore Rock of Florida; one niece; and one nephew.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Louise (Henry) Goda, who died Aug. 22, 2015.

GODA — A Mass of Christian burial for Michael P. Goda Jr., who died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler.
