Joseph F. Capella, 93, of Evans City passed away Tuesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.

Born Dec. 23, 1922, in Evans City, he was the son of the late Frank and Virginia Rossi Capella.

Joe proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Armco in 1983. Joe was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. A master craftsman, he enjoyed hunting, bowling and golfing in his spare time. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his son, Terry M. (Roberta) Capella of Butler; his stepson, Joseph (Holly) Neely of Harlansburg; his sister, Mary McCarty of Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Grace E. Crise; his stepson, Vern Lee Neely; his brother, Thomas “Cozy;” and three sisters, Olga, Satina and Josephine.

CAPELLA — A graveside service for Joseph F. Capella, who died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Evans City Cemetery, followed by full military honors.In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.Arrangements are under the direction of the Boylan Funeral Home in Zelienople.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
