Shirley Y. Mitchell Tessier, 73, of Evans City passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon in the Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford.

Born Oct. 25, 1942, in White Wood, W.Va., she was the last surviving child of the late Zack and Nancy Jones Mitchell.

Shirley had been employed by St. Barnabas as a caregiver, retiring in 2002.

She was a loving friend, sister and aunt, a caring person to all and will be greatly missed by those she met.

Shirley was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters.

She is survived by her brother-in-law, Kenneth Rape of Evans City; and many nieces and nephews.

TESSIER — A memorial service for Shirley Y. Mitchell Tessier, who died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, will be announced later.Burial will be at the Evans City Cemetery.The family has suggested memorial donations be made to Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Old Union Church Road, Mars, PA 16046.The A.
