Sheri Johnston Parson

Sheri Johnston Parson, 57, of Portersville passed away Monday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born March 8, 1959, in Butler, to Frank S. Johnston and Gladys Butler Rea.

Sheri was a 1977 graduate of Slippery Rock High School. She then went on to Westminster College, graduating in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in public relations. She worked at Westminster College as a custodian, VNA Inpatient Hospice and St. Barnabas. Sheri was the owner of Parson's Cleaning Service. She was a social member of the Portersville Muddy Creek VFD. Sheri enjoyed yard sales, antiques, crafts, refinishing furniture and gardening. She was Protestant by faith.

She is survived by her father, Frank S. Johnston, and his wife, Barbara, of Brooksville, Fla.; her mother, Gladys Butler Rea, and her husband, James, of Butler; one daughter, Brooke Ann Seifert, and her husband, Brook, of Portersville; two uncles; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Parson, who she married Sept. 16, 1977, and who died in May of 2007; and one brother, Robert Johnston, in 2005.

PARSON — Friends of Sheri Johnston Parson, who died Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral service will follow immediately at 5 p.m. with the Rev. Gary Dindinger officiating.
