Richard G. “Slim” Springer

Richard G. “Slim” Springer, 68, of Butler, passed away Thursday evening at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

Born in Pittsburgh, Dec. 8, 1947, he was the son of the late William and Marion Taylor Springer.

Slim retired Dec. 31, 2014, from Clark Enterprises Inc. in the parts department. He not only enjoyed camping at the Kozy Rest Campground in Harrisville, but he worked there doing maintenance. He was a great NASCAR fan. He also was a push truck driver at Lernerville. But above all, he enjoyed his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Mazuch Springer; one daughter, Lori (Brian) MacDonald of Valencia; and three grandchildren, Samantha, Emma and Frederick.

SPRINGER — Friends and relatives of Richard G. “Slim” Springer, who died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 328 W. Main St., Evans City.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Mars Alliance Church, 997 Route 228 in Mars, with the Rev. Joseph Toomey officiating.The family has suggested memorial donations be made to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16001.Additional information is available at www.kinsey-volzfuneralhome.com.
